The Sustainable Business Council (SBC) has recently announced the formation of an accelerator cohort for small businesses (<500 employees) in the City of Green Bay. Very likely you’re asking yourself just what exactly do they mean by ‘accelerator cohort?’ Great question. What SBC is looking for are ten businesses in the City of Green Bay that would like to accelerate their sustainability journeys. And they are offering to provide their own expertise and coaching, as well as the peer collaboration that comes with being part of a larger cohort. It’s a little like Leadership Green Bay, except the end project is making your business more sustainable! And it’s free 😉
SBC will help you find nature-based solutions that will help to lower your costs, reduce your impacts, and play a role in supporting a healthy community. What are nature-based solutions? An example of a nature-based solution is a bioswale. Often, it’s easier and less expensive to address drainage issues using a process that mimics nature rather than using an engineered solution that involves concrete and PVC. The same thinking can be applied to many problems that arise in business.
Applications are due at the end of January, and the program will take place over roughly 20 hours between April and June 2026, with implementation of nature-based solutions happening between June and September 2026. So, if you are motivated to transform your business, represent a business with fewer than 500 employees, have control over your building and the land you occupy, and are in the City of Green Bay, then you should definitely apply!
Information Session, December 9th at 12 noon. Register here.
